DESIGN WITH FREEDOM
KSG Refshine comes in many in intriguing hues to complement the architect's designs. It is suitable for glass curtain wall and blends well with metal, concrete, tiles, granite and other building material.
-
ENERGY SAVING
KSG Refshine has excellent solar heat controlling capability, and it can substantially reduce the interior are conditioning load. Various performance types of KSG Refshine are available to suit the architech's or engineer's specification. This enables the architect's to design large openings for the buildings' facade.
-
PRIVACY
KSG Refshine has a reflective surface which allows occupants in the interior to see a clear exterior view throughout the daytime. Due to the reflective coating and light intensity during daytime which cause the interior to be dimmer than the exterior, people outside the building are unable to see the interior. Thus, privacy is ensured.
-
INTERIOR COMFORT
KSG Refshine adequately transmits and reflects visible light to create a comfortable interior environment. Its soft hues keep the interior atmosphere comfortable and filter direct sunlight to reduce glare.
-
VIVID LOOK
The mirror effect of KSG Refshine merges well with the surroundings and provides variations in appearance at different time of the day.

Precautions On Use And Design
- To maintain the elegant look of REFSHINE for a long period, use REFSHINE with the metal-coated surface facing the interior.
- When the coated surface is glazed facing the interior, the REFSHINE colour will vary depending on the thickness of the glass when it viewed from exterior. To ensure a uniform tone on the same facade, keep the glass thickness difference to 2mm.
- REFSHINE's reflection and transmission of colours vary depending on the type of coating used. Some mottling or streaking in the coating may be seen, For closer inspection of tones or reflected images, please request for large samples.
- REFSHINE's solar absorption is as high as 60% to 70%. Therefore, design details and conditions of usage are necessary for thermal stress calculation especially for annealed and laminated glass. For details, please contact us.
- REFSHINE's visible light reflectivity is as high as 10% to 40%. In this case, reflected light may affect surrounding buildings and cars. If reflected light paths need to be checked, please contact us.
- Due to REFSHINE's high visible light reflectivity, distortion of reflected images will be more obvious than ordinary float glass.
Precautions For Installation
- Plastic protective film is applied on REFSHINE's metal coated surface (except the glass peripheral portions) to protect the coated surface from contamination or damage during installation. When glazing, make sure that the side which has a label on the protective film faces the inside.
- When the protective film is no longer necessary, remove it and then clean the exposed glass surface. In the case of spandrels, the protective film should be removed just before installation.
- Cover the surface around the protective film with masking tape when applying prime. Should the primer adhere to the glass, remove it immediately with toluene and then rinse with water.
- If the glass is cracked or chipped while in storage or during installation, thermal cracks may occur.
- Store REFSHINE in a well-ventilated room, away from rain or sunlight, and cover it with plastic sheet. Do not leave REFSHINE outdoors as this may lead to contamination and thermal cracks.
Maintenance And Cleaning
- To preserve the beauty of REFSHINE, clean the surface at least once a month.
- Wash off solid materials such as sand deposits on the surface and wipe with clean cloth squeegee.
- Only clean water is recommended for cleaning. If this does not work, use a mild neutral base detergent and then rinse with clean water.
- Some detergent may contain small grains and may be acidic or alkaline in nature, and this could damage the coated surface. Therefore, never use detergents which are made for cleaning tiles or frames to clean REFSHINE's surface.
- Do not direct the cold air from an air conditioning outlet towards the surface of the glass. Do not also position lockers, furniture or partitions close to the glass surface. These could lead to thermal cracks.
- Do not attach paper or apply paint on REFSHINE. This could cause thermal cracks and make cleaning of the coated surface difficult.
Standard Method of Refshine Installation
- Use highly accurate and rigid frames and install REFSHINE with recommended clearance as shown in the installation diagram below.
- Use non-acetic type silicone sealant.
- Use a soft backup material such as polyethylene foam or neoprene foam rubber. Do not damage the coated surface during installation of the backup material.
- Use two setting blocks of neoprene rubber, hardness 80° - 90° with dimensions as specified below:
| Length |
: |
25A mm or above (minimum 50mm)
A = glass area (m2) |
| Width |
